Leading renewable energy consultancy and repair supplier, Natural Power, has acted as technical advisor to Blackfinch Investments for the acquisition of a brand new subsidy-free solar farm project in North Wales.
The website, which is positioned on the Llyn Peninsula, is in superior stage of growth and already has planning consent, a grid connection supply and the choice for lease in place to put in a 6MW solar farm. It was acquired from Wiltshire based mostly developer Luminous Energy via Blackfinch’s renewable energy funding arm, Sedgwick Trading. The continued growth of the project is being managed by Luminous Energy.
Hannah Staab, Principal Solar & Energy Storage Consultant at Natural Power, mentioned: “This project is another sign that the UK subsidy-free solar market is picking up, and that even small sites can be viable under the right conditions. It is difficult to see how the UK could meet its 2050 net zero commitment without accelerating deployment of onshore wind and solar, and we were delighted to support Blackfinch in the development of another cheap, clean renewable project.”
To assist the transaction, Natural Power focussed on optimising the positioning design and energy manufacturing, in addition to reviewing planning situations, leases and grid connection. A website inspection was carried out by Natural Power’s planning group to evaluate constraints for website entry, design and development.
Natural Power’s world due diligence group offers companies all through all levels of the transaction cycle, from preliminary threat evaluation and reporting in early transaction levels via to complete reporting for credit-committee or knowledge room presentation at last bid stage or monetary shut.
