The Solar Foundation is launching two new solar workforce improvement packages to join transitioning military service members and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces with career coaching, skilled improvement and employment opportunities within the solar industry.

In partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s “Hiring Our Heroes” program, the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), The Solar Foundation is main efforts to broaden and strengthen a nationwide pipeline of gifted job candidates with military expertise into a variety of superior roles at solar corporations throughout the United States.

These tasks — the Solar Ready Vets Fellowship Program and the Solar Opportunities and Readiness (SOAR) Initiative — are funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) as a part of the increasing Solar Ready Vets Network. Through substantive partnerships between solar corporations, coaching suppliers, and workforce improvement networks in high-demand markets, the SOAR Initiative will join veterans with a variety of solar coaching, credentialing, skilled improvement, and employment opportunities.

Through this initiative, The Solar Foundation will work with SEIA, NABCEP, and different project companions to set up a Department of Labor-recognized apprenticeship; broaden the eligibility of solar coaching for GI Bill advantages; and outline expedited pathways to solar certifications primarily based on military expertise and {qualifications}.
